Who may be married in Ontario?
You must be 18 years of age to married. Any person who is 16 or 17 years may marry with written consent of his/her legal guardian.
How can I obtain a Marriage License?

Your marriage license is good for 90 days. Call 416-392-7036 for more details.
Do I need to provide witnesses?
In Ontario you need two witnesses during the ceremony. If you do not have two witnesses, make arrangements with us and we will supply them for you.
How long is the ceremony?
Your ceremony lasts about 15 minutes.
May we take photos during the ceremony?
Yes, you may have a guest take photos during the ceremony or we can make arrangements to have a local professional photographer take photos for you if you let us know ahead of time.
Can we provide music?
Yes, you can provide music of your choice. If you wish us to bring a boombox and wedding CD, let us know ahead of time. There is no charge for this.
Can we write our own vows?
Yes, you can write your own vows. They are said immediately after the formal vows provided for you.
How do I change my name after the Ceremony?
When you obtain your marriage license there is a form included that you need to fill out. You can also call the Registrar General's office 416-325-8035 for more information.
What does the Officiant wear to the ceremony?
The offciant usually wears a clergy robe. If you wish something more informal, kindly make your requests known ahead of time with the officiant.
What do couples have to wear to the ceremony?
Although most couples wear bridal attire, there is no formal dress code required.
